Rep. Marguerite Quinn Takes Oath of Office for First Time
Rep. Marguerite Quinn (R-Bucks) was sworn in today as the new representative for the 143rd Legislative District in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives.
“I am humbled that the people of my district have entrusted me with this responsibility,” said Quinn. “Taking the oath of office today on the House floor has affirmed the enormity of this post. I will always remain aware of the confidence the voters have placed in me. I never want to lose touch with the spirit of the people in my district, and the best way for me to accomplish this is to remain active in the community. I intend to be a citizen legislator.”
Quinn, one of nearly 60 freshmen legislators sworn in today in the General Assembly, said her priority for her first term will be constituent services. Legislatively, she will focus on meaningful property tax reform, improving access to assistance for municipalities to manage growth and development, common sense malpractice liability reform and instituting sound environmental policies.
Quinn replaces Charles McIlhinney Jr., who was elected to the Pennsylvania Senate after serving as the representative for the 143rd since 1998.
The 143rd District, located in Bucks County, includes the townships of Bedminster, Bridgeton, Buckingham, Doylestown, Durham, Nockamixon, Plumstead and Tinicum, and the boroughs of Doylestown and Riegelsville.
