On Aug. 19, Stephen Mattes and Kaitlin Carr, interns in Rep. Marguerite Quinn’s office from Central Bucks East High School, offered presentations on legislation they’ve researched while working with Rep. Quinn.
Holding the Governor Accountable for His Budget
This is my first session to serve the House Appropriations Committee, which held three weeks of hearings to learn about Gov. Tom Wolf’s budget proposal. Testimony was provided by all of the various state agencies and department heads, and Committee members had the opportunity to ask questions about each agency or department’s spending, programs and requested funding for the 2015-16 fiscal year. It was interesting to hear the various reports and to learn about what has been working, what changes are planned and how the Commonwealth agencies will be addressing the diverse challenges we face as a state.
